Satan is a deceiver, and he's good at it.
We often see the lies he tells as welcoming, truth, and good ideas. He'll tell you you're not good enough. He's right we aren't, but in Christ, we can do all things. He'll tell you God doesn't care. God cares so much, He sent His one and only Son to save us from hell. He loves you so much, He has prepared a place for you with no tears. He'll tell you hell isn't real and lead you to believe eternity is short and life on earth is long. Here on earth our "treasures" rust. We often turn our focus to the things of this world. Is it more important to climb the corporate ladder or win people to Jesus? Is it more important to get that extra dollar or spend that time with your family, so your children have a positive image of their father in heaven? Is it more important to look good, better, or the best or to allow someone else the limelight in their moment of darkness? This earth is a blink of time. Eternity is forever and ever without end. Success in the world's eyes will fade. Saved souls are for eternity. 19: Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth. and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor. Matthew 6:19-20 He'll tell you that person doesn't think highly of you. You'll lose focus of glorifying God and switch it to glorifying or impressing that person. That person's thoughts of you are temporary. God's love for you is eternal and unconditional. That person will let you down. God never will. He'll tell you the answer to prayer is yes. That's so false and so detrimental to many in the faith. Sometimes God answer is no or wait. God is omniscient. He knows all. He knows the end result. He is there before we are, and He knows what is best for us and the furtherance of His Kingdom. If our earthly fathers who are corrupt want to give us good things, doesn't God? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Matthew 7:11 He will tell you that because an opportunity is present, you must take it. Slow down. Seek God and His Kingdom first. An open door isn't always a good one. David had a directly open door/view of Bathsheba, and that didn't take him anywhere good. However, God still prevailed. He will tell you that because the door is closed, God is not faithful. That is not true. we must ask, knock, and seek. He will tell you that the two statements directly above are opposing and confusing. Not true. God know what is best for us, and each situation is individual. When we seek God it is important (and hard) to let God have His way knowing He desires the greatest for us, all while having faith because He is FAITHFUL. He'll tell you you're unimportant. Adoption is one of the most incredible things to me. You take someone in as your own flesh and blood and you love them, raise them, nurture them. God, out of all His amazing creation, chose us to worship Him. God, chose us Gentiles to be adopted into His family. It's just beautiful, and it certainly tells us we are important. He has given us the greatest mission- the Great Commission- to go and tell the world about Him. He entrusted us with that. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. Ephesians 2:19-22 He'll tell you the pain you're experiencing isn't worth the joy that is coming, or he'll take a step farther and tell you there is no joy coming, so go ahead, live in pity, sin, and despair. Lies. This life is so, so short in comparison to eternity. That is such a hard concept for our finite minds to grasp. I certainly haven't yet, but can I just testify really quickly? I wasn't saved until I was 22. There were some hardships in those 22 years, and they were hard, so hard. I've had hardships after being saved (Satan will also tell you as a believer you shouldn't have hardships which then results in doubting God and/or your salvation- don't believe that.), and you know what? My worst days with Jesus as my Savior are better than my best days as a lost soul. I am so, so thankful to get to walk this earth with Jesus Christ. I cannot imagine a day without Him. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18 This is for the ladies. Satan will tell you you're not beautiful. He will tell you there must be something wrong with you, and that's why you're single. He'll tell you you're a terrible housekeeper. He'll tell you you're an awful wife. If you believe those lies and dwell in them, you will certainly become those things. Don't let Satan have the victory. Overcome and seek God and His strength. Satan is the ultimate deceiver. He knows us well. He studies us, and he knows our weaknesses. He wants us to fail. Satan, however, is not omnipresent. He is not omnipotent. He is weak. Sadly, we often give him "power" by believing his damaging lies. Dear child of God, you are loved. Set your eyes on Jesus, the AUTHOR AND FINISHER of your faith and set out on the race before you. Seek God. Walk with God. Let God hold you. Let God protect you, and know that in adverse times, He is still with you. Trials mold us. We will fail. Our flesh is weak, but our Savior is strong. Can you think of specific, or general lies Satan has whispered to you? If so, comment below. Let’s rally together and stand strong in God against Satan. Lord, help me to set my eyes on You and not on things of this world. God help me to be more concerned with your opinion of me. God help me to walk so closely with You that Your will and mine align, and that I will put both feet before me to carry out Your purpose for my life. God help me to not be influenced by unwise counsel, but that I would walk with You, seek Your discernment, and surround myself with people who lift me up in You. God will I set my heart on things above and only think on whatsoever things are true, lovely, and pure. I love You, God. In Jesus Name, Amen. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8
