It's that time of year! Teachers everywhere are putting the final touches on their classrooms. And just as we finish, we go to another classroom, and we find ourselves feeling inadequate.
If you've not experienced the phenomena I like to call "Pinterest Effect", maybe your room is Pinterest perfect. From Teachers Pay Teachers to Social Media there is this push to make things cuter. My prayer for myself and all other teachers this year is that we don't find out identity in others' classrooms, but that we find it in Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father, Thank You that we are able to present our requests to You knowing You'll listen and give the answer that is best. God, please help teachers everywhere to not play the comparison game. It's so easy to see another teacher 's decor, activity, and organization and feel inadequate. God I pray You'll help us to keep our eyes on You and Your will for us with the children You've graciously entrusted us with. I pray that we'll remember the most important thing in our classroom- the student. Help us please to show each child grace, patience, and Your love. God I pray we will set an example for You. Help us please to not be distracted by Pinterest, unnecessary comparisons, or self inadequacy. God I pray we will all find rest in You, setting our eyes on things above. Help us please to find our identity in You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
